Take for example this: is one of many E.E. Cummings settings which I have produced in the past few years. I find Cummings’ poetry to be some of the most musically evocative in the English language, oftentimes not for its content, but for its peculiar declamation, vocabulary, and even typographical appearance. It is delicate, like lacework, yet robust and resilient, and always yields a musical result with similar characteristics.
